synaigy Hackathon 2018

synaigy and Frontastic hack a PWA for IBM Websphere Commerce

Thursday, 11.10.2018 10:00 am in the Mediapark Cologne – it’s finally time: the synaigy Hackathon 2018 starts. Four teams compete to show what they can do in two days. The team “Syntastic” wants to prove that it is possible to create a slim Progressive Web App (PWA) based on the IBM Websphere API and a generic Frontend-as-a-Service in only two days.

Frontastic will be used as Frontend-as-a-Service. Frontastic is based on standard components, like the JavaScript Libraries React JS and Redux for the frontend and the PHP Framework Symfony for backend and integrations. However, using standards does not yet guarantee that everyone can master them: On Thursday morning, at the first team meeting, the first big hurdle becomes clear: the involved interdisciplinary development team from synaigy has not yet developed in React and the involved backend developer felt much more at home in the Java area than in PHP. Exciting starting position!
