Frontastic wins leading Swiss wine online retailer Flaschenpost.ch and telco retail giant powwow.de
Frontastic gains two new customers – market leaders in their respective industries – thanks to the ability to implement new frontend ideas in day-to-day business quickly and with less help from developers and agencies.
Münster/ Cologne/ Zurich, May 19, 2020Frontastic, the Frontend-as-a-Service provider, starts the summer with two well-known new customers.
One of the leading companies in the German telecommunications market, powwow.de, will now rely on the frontend solution from Frontastic. powwow operates online storefronts such as Sparhandy.de or Deinhandy.de and wants to achieve a unique shopping experience with a perfect user experience. Because their self-programmed systems were too inflexible in terms of change, the company decided to implement a new software architecture based on Spryker, Akeneo and Frontastic. “Without the right digital partners who develop innovation and manage the APIs to third parties, there’s no chance to serve the changes in customer expectations”, says Jens Barth, Co-CEO of powwow.
Flaschenpost.ch comes on board as another new Frontastic customer. The company is the leading online wine store in Switzerland and has the largest range on the market with over 30,000 quality wines. Founder Dominic Blaesi also focuses on creating an optimal customer experience to realize Flaschenpost’s vision of making buying wine as easy as possible. Personalized recommendations and wine subscriptions help to retain customers but the wine retailer has even more big ideas and plans for the future that they couldn’t realize with their previous monolithic system. Now, thanks to the frontend flexibility of Frontastic, combined with commercetools, Flaschenpost.ch can put their ideas into practice faster than before.
“With powwow and Flaschenpost.ch, we’ve once again succeeded in enticing two market leading companies to Frontastic,” says CEO and Co-Founder Thomas Gottheil happily. “This shows that we’ve made a name for ourselves as a Frontend-as-a-Service provider that established companies trust – and that we’re on the right track with making frontend design as flexible and simple as possible.”
powwow is a leading company in the German telecommunications market. With their brands Sparhandy, DEINHANDY, DEINHOME, Handystar, HIGH, HandyInRaten & SH they cover over 80% of the indirect telco market. They reach their customers mainly online, but also in the specialist and wholesale trade and on TV. With more than 300 colleagues at their three locations in Cologne, Berlin and Bochum, they think 100% digital and rely on future-oriented technologies and working methods out of conviction. Their aim: to create an inspiring shopping experience across all brands for their customers.
Founded in 2007, Flaschenpost.ch is the leading online wine store in Switzerland and has the largest selection on the market with over 30,000 quality wines. Customers can order products from different suppliers on a single platform and receive them with a single delivery. The selection includes provenances from all over the world, including organic wines and rarities.
With its Frontend-as-a-Service, Frontastic is rethinking the digital customer experience. Radically based on “mobile first”, the solution enables ambitious online retailers, brands, marketplaces, or even agile start-ups to easily implement a customer centric digital experience with minimal IT effort. Within a short period of time, Frontastic has successfully established itself as the new standard frontend solution for the API economy.

The home office is not a model for success for every person or every company. But it can take a lot of pain for both companies and people (lack of skilled workers, long journeys). However, this only works if you do it right - as is so often the case.
