4 new major brands rely on Frontastic’s Composable Frontend Platform

Frontastic wins Apollo, Prym, CHRONEXT, and Universal Music Germany as customers for their cloud-based Composable Frontend Platform. API economy and headless CMS have developed from buzzword to game-changer in eCommerce.

The optician with the most stores, the oldest industrial family business in Germany, the most innovative luxury watch retailer, and Germany’s leading music entertainment company. Apollo, Prym, CHRONEXT, and Universal Music Germany’s eCommerce division Bravado not only combine the superlatives. They all rely on Frontastic’s Composable Frontend Platform to focus on their customers and frontend excellence.

Founded in 2017, Frontastic has developed a cloud solution that focuses 100% on the visual customer experience across all digital channels. Unlike traditional approaches, the Composable Frontend Platform is specifically designed to meet the needs of the API economy. Apollo, Bravado, and CHRONEXT, for example, use commercetools as their API-based eCommerce system. Like most new content management and commerce systems, commercetools doesn’t have their own frontend in focus but provide interfaces, so-called APIs.

Frontastic accesses these APIs and makes the information and functions available to the team in the form of so-called Frontastic components (small visual building blocks based on React). The Frontastic components are then used to build all customer-oriented areas of the commerce site with the help of an intuitive site builder. The frontend is then delivered as a Progressive Web App (PWA) and also sets new standards.

This flexible approach ensures that all employees (online marketing, editors, designers, frontend and backend developers) work highly independently of each other and so can achieve their common goals quickly and efficiently. This makes the implementation of new ideas and innovations or the integration of services and content sources particularly easy and resource-saving.

“We’re very pleased about the positive response from the eCommerce industry. The fact that we were able to win 4 major brands for Frontastic in a short time shows the urgent need for a solution designed for mobile excellence in the new API-based world. Frontastic is not only a tool but as a Commerce Frontend Platform that will become a central part of the digital customer experience.”
